| The Navajo Way of Life |
The purpose of Navajo life is to maintain balance between the individual and the universe and to live in harmony with nature and the Creator. In order to achieve this goal, Navajos must perform their religious practices on the specific, time honored areas which they inhabit. To the Navajos, life, and everyday of it, is sacred. We remember this each time we pray, each time we offer our corn pollan. We are sacred in the eyes of the holy ones. To Navajos, truth is found in our sacred songs, sacred ceremonies and sacred mountains. |
